My research interests are in various aspects of artificial intelligence, including machine learning, planning, problem solving, reasoning under uncertainty, automated problem reformulation, e-commerce applications, medical applications, and theoretical foundations of artificial intelligence. My interests also include computational geometry and algorithm theory.
I am currently working on an intelligent system for reasoning under uncertainty, which is part of the Radar project, aimed at creating an automated general-purpose assistant for office managers. I am also working on techniques for identifying patterns in large-scale databases, and applying these techniques to homeland security, which is a joint project involving Carnegie Mellon University and Dynamix Technologies Corporation.
